Boston College will travel to Blacksburg, Virginia for the third conference game of the season on Friday, Sept. 27 at Thompson Field (1 p.m.). Fans can view the game on the ACC Network. Dalen Cuff and former Eagles forward Charlie Davies will call the game.

BC is coming off a 1-0 victory over in-state rival Massachusetts on Tuesday. Senior Joe Kellett scored in the 48^th minute on a penalty kick to win the game. It was his first game-winner since joining the Eagles in 2018. Sophomore goalkeeper Christian Garner pick up his first career win with three saves in the match.

Virginia Tech lost to (RV) Louisville on Friday, 2-1. The Hokies lone goal was scored by Kristo Strickler in the first half. The Cardinals scored two second half goals to improve to 3-1-2 and 1-0-1 in the ACC. Virginia Tech is now 5-2-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the ACC.

The Hokies only other loss was to North Carolina (3-1) on September 13 at home.

BC vs. VIRGINIA TECH
- Boston College leads the overall series against Virginia Tech, 10-2-3.
- The first meeting between BC and the Hokies was on Sept. 22, 2001. BC earned a tough 2-1 victory on the road.
- BC longest winning streak vs. Virginia Tech was seven straight games from 2006-2011.
- The two teams last played in 2017. The Hokies won the game in Newton, 1-0, behind a goal in the 46th minute by Kristo Strickler. BC outshot the Hokies, 17-10. The Eagles had six shots on goal and 10 corner kicks, while Virginia Tech managed three shots on goal with five corner kicks.

- Four Eagles will serve as the BC captains this season - seniors Joe Kellett, Heidar Aegisson, Adam French and junior David Longo. Aegisson is the only two-time captain as he served as a team leader in 2018.

YOUTH MOVEMENT
Boston College has been starting five freshmen and two sophomores this season. Against UMass on Tuesday, the Eagles started five freshmen (Amos Shapiro-Thompson, Stefan Sigurdarson, Mike Suski, Alejandro Zimmermann & Victor Souza) and three sophomores (Jesus Sahagun, Christian Garner & Tyshawn Rose).

Three of the rookies -Amos Shapiro-Thompson, Stefan Sigurdarson and Mike Suski - are leading the team offensively. Shapiro-Thompson has three goals for six points, Sigurdarson had one goal and two assists for four points and Suski has a goal and assist for three points.

Sophomore Jesus Sahagun scored the game-winner vs. Holy Cross. It was his first career goal.
Kristofer Konradsson, a sophomore, scored the game-winner at BU.

Defender Victor Souza, Shapiro-Thompson and Sigurdarson have started every game this season. Freshman goalkeeper Giacomo Piccardo has started six of seven games.

In the last three games, freshman Alejandro Zimmermann has stepped in to play in the back alongside Souza.

Shapiro-Thompson, Siguardarson and Souza are the only freshmen to start every game. Souza has not missed in a minute in the seven games.
