WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 17 Boston College field hockey team opened up Atlantic Coast Conference action with a win over No. 18 Wake Forest, 2-0, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Friday, Sept. 20.

Four different student-athletes earned points for BC, while Jonna Kennedy made six saved is goal and earned her first shutout of the year.

Brigid Wood scored BC's first goal of the game and her first goal of the season off a pass from Fusine Govaert on a penalty corner with 1:45 left to go in the first half.

Margo Carlin then buried her team-leading seventh goal of the season from Charlotte Von Huelsen.

- Margo Carlin is now tied for second in the ACC with seven goals on the season and leads all freshmen in the category. Carlin now has goals in her last four games and in six of the seven games this season.
- Jonna Kennedy earned her first complete-game shutout since 1-0 win over Boston University on Oct. 28, 2018.
- Fusine Govaert picked up an assist on BC's first goal, extending her point streak to four games and has points in six of seven games this season.
