BC will continue its season-opening three-game stand in Newton on Sunday night against the River Hawks.

ABOUT UMASS LOWELL
• UMass Lowell is coming off a season-opening, 2-1 loss at Niagara on Thursday night ... Lily Fabian scored for the River Hawks while Lauren Huff recorded two saves.
• The River Hawks were picked to finish fourth in the America East Preseason Coaches' poll, the highest preseason ranking for the squad since joining the Division I Level ahead of the 2013 season.
• UML went 7-9-5 overall in 2018 with a 4-3-1 mark in conference play.
• The River Hawks qualified for their first-ever America East Tournament in 2018 and climbed all the way to the title game, falling to UAlbany.
SERIES HISTORY VS UMASS LOWELL
• This will be the first-ever meeting between Boston College and UMass Lowell.
• The Eagles are 38-18-6 all-time against current America East Teams.
LAST TIME OUT
• Boston College earned its eighth consecutive season-opening victory - and extended its unbeaten streak in openers to 13 games - on Thursday night with a 2-1 win over UMass.
• The win marked the first career head coaching victory for Jason Lowe.
• Freshman Samantha Agresti opened the scoring with her first career goal in the fifth minute while classmate Sam Smith fired the game-winner home in the 88th.
• BC started five rookies, with Samantha Agresti, Smith, Michela Agresti, Sydney Moore and Allie Augur all getting the first collegiate action of their careers.
• Augur earned the win with three saves.

• BC athletic teams went a combined 2-1-1 against UMass Lowell squads during the 2018-19 school year.

ABOUT HEAD COACH JASON LOWE
• Jason Lowe was named the program's fifth head coach on Jan. 9, 2019.
• Lowe arrived on the Heights after serving on the coaching staff at Wake Forest since 2014, including 2017 and 2018 as associate head coach.
• The Shaker Heights, Ohio native helped the Demon Deacons reach the NCAA tournament Round of 32 in 2017 and the Sweet 16 in 2018.
• Prior to Wake Forest, Lowe served as an assistant coach at Alabama for five seasons and two years at Emory.
• Lowe served as a goalkeeper for the Wake Forest men's soccer team from 1994-97.
• In addition to receiving his bachelor's degree in 1998, Lowe also earned his MBA from Wake Forest in 2002.
2019 CAPTAINS
• The Eagles will be led by the trio of Gaby Carreiro, Erin Convery and Kayla Jennings in 2019.
• Carreiro and Jennings are now in their second year as captains after first receiving an armband in 2018 ... Convery is a first-year captain.
BC BITS
• Boston College finished the 2018 season with an overall record of 14-5-1 and a conference mark of 6-3-1.
• The Eagles earned the program's 19th-ever NCAA tournament bid.
• The 2019 season marks the first under head coach Jason Lowe.
• BC added 11 new faces to the 2019 roster, with nine rookies and two transfers landing on the Heights.
• Senior forward Olivia Vaughn is BC's active scoring leader with 44 points on 20 goals and four assists.
