Duca Set for 1,500m run at NCAA Championship

BC senior will race in the semifinals on Thursday night live on ESPNU
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Paige Duca will race in the semifinals of the 1,500m run on Thursday, June 6 at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship. The national championship will be held at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas in Austin.
Duca becomes the first BC runner to qualify for the NCAA Championship since 2016 and will be the first Eagle to race in the 1,500m at nationals since Shannon Smith in 2001. The Rockville Centre, N.Y. native placed seventh overall at the NCAA East Preliminary round on May 25, posting a time of 4:19.87.
The semis of the 1,500m are slated to start at 8:16 p.m. ET (7:08 p.m. local time) and the race will be shown live on ESPNU, as the network begins continuing coverage of the opening day of competition at 8 p.m. ET.Â
