Duca Earns Trip to Austin for NCAA Championship in 1,500m

Places seventh at East Preliminary round; punches her ticket to Austin
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Paige Duca earned a trip to the NCAA Championship, finishing seventh in the 1,500m run on Saturday at the 2019 NCAA East Preliminary round. Â
The top 12 finishers in each region - East and West - advance to the national championship meet, held at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
Duca clocked her second sub-4:20 performance in the finals, with a time of 4:19.87. The Rockville Centre, N.Y. native ran a season-best 4:19.63 in the qualifying heat on Thursday.
The semifinal round of the women's 1,500m at the NCAA Championship will be held on Thursday, June 6.
