Baseball Locked In to Face Clemson and Louisville

The 12-seed Eagles open the ACC Championship Tuesday at 11 a.m.
DURHAM, N.C. -- The Boston College baseball team enters the 2019 ACC Championship as the tournaments 12 seed and opens play on Tuesday, May 21 at 11 a.m. against eighth-seeded Clemson at Durham Bulls Athletic Park as announced by the conference on Sunday morning. The Eagles are in Pool A and will face top-seeded Louisville Wednesday, May 22 at 11 a.m. All games will air on regional sports networks, including NESN+ and YES, and will stream on ACC Network Extra via WatchESPN.
BC clinched a spot in its third ACC tournament over the last four seasons with a convincing, 10-1 win over Notre Dame this past Thursday. The Eagles claimed the series with a Friday night win and enter the postseason at 29-26 overall with a 12-18 mark in ACC play. Boston College has won seven of its last nine games has won 15 games against Q1 and Q2 opponents this season.
The Eagle lineup is fifth in the ACC; hitting at a .281 clip in league play and .289 overall. Senior third baseman Jake Alu leads the team with a .351 average and 51 runs scored. On the mound, senior lefty Dan Metzdorf anchors the BC pitching staff. He is 7-2 with a 2.58 earned run average and has allowed just one run over his last three starts.
