Eagles head to ACC Championship off series win vs. Notre Dame.
BRIGHTON, Mass. – The Boston College baseball team finished the regular season with an 11-5 loss to Notre Dame at the Harrington Athletics Village on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles move into the next week's ACC Championship with a 29-26 overall record and finished 12th in the standings at 12-18; one spot behind the Fighting Irish (24-28, 13-17).
Notre Dame scored early and often against BC; plating at least one run in each of the first seven innings. Lefty Cameron Brown (4-6) took that run support and ran with it on the mound. He allowed five runs, four in his final inning of work, on five hits and three walks with seven strikeouts.
The Irish opened the scoring in the top of the first with a two-run home run to right by third baseman Niko Kavadas. First baseman Daniel Jung later homered in the fourth inning.
Freshman second baseman Cody Morissette (Exeter, N.H.) led the Eagle lineup with a 3-for-4 day. He picked up two RBI-doubles and a single. Senior catcher Gian Martellini (Johnston, R.I.) added a 2-for-3 game.
