Mayer was named the Elliot Lilien Award honoree for combining competitive excellence with excellent sportsmanship. The inscription on the trophy reads the following: "Named after NFC founder, former Commissioner, and USA Fencing Hall of Fame-nominated coach Elliot Lilien. This award is given to that fencer in the conference who shows exemplary sportsmanship and an excellent parry system." The senior's Elliot Lilien award comes on the heels of his All Star First Team honor in the men's foil, as announced with other Eagles' honors on Feb. 12.

Doris-Pierce, in his first season as head coach of the Eagles, was named the Men's Team Coaching Staff of the Year after a vote by the coaches and captains of the teams in the conference. Doris-Pierce guided both the men's and women's teams to undefeated seasons as well as the team championship titles and combined team championship title. Â
