Eagles Finish Strong at Sam Howell Invitational

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — The Boston College women's track & field team competed at the Sam Howell Invitational on the campus of Princeton University this weekend. The meet, originally slated to take part over two days, was condensed into a one-day meet on Saturday due to inclement weather on Friday evening.
The Eagles took 2-5 in the 5,000m run, led by Isabelle Kennedy's 17:21.77. She was followed by Colleen Sliney in third (17:41.53), Mary Kate Vaughn in fourth (17:48.79), and Caroline Barry in fifth (17:50.97).
Kat DeLoreto (4:41.22) and Jessica Martin (4:42.02) finished fourth and fifth, respectively in the 1,500m run, while Erin McGill was sixth in the 800m (2:14.58).
In the field events, Julia Lyons took second place in the long jump, with a leap of 5.69m (18'8.0"), while Amanda Sinkewicz was third in the javelin, with a toss of 40.44m (132'8").
