Eagles Fall To Notre Dame, 11-0

Allyson Moore extends hit streak to six games in loss.
NOTRE DAME, Indiana - The Boston College softball team dropped an ACC contest to Notre Dame, 11-0, in five innings on Friday night at Melissa Cook Stadium on the campus of Notre Dame.
After the Eagles (11-21, 3-7 ACC) went down in order in the first inning, Notre Dame (22-12, 5-5 ACC) responded with three runs behind a two-run double from Melissa Rochford.
In the second inning, BC put two on as Allyson Moore jump started the offense with a single. Jenna Ergle put two on when she was hit by a pitch. Notre Dame stranded the two runners as starting pitcher Payton Tibb got the last two batters to ground out and pop out to end the inning.
Anderson shut down Notre Dame in the second inning with two ground ball outs and a strikeout. Â
It would be the third inning where BC ran into trouble. A three-run home run from MK Bonamy extended the Notre Dame lead, 6-0. Freshman Camryn Dolby came in for relief to get out of the third inning.
The Irish tacked on three more runs in the fourth inning on the second three-run home run, this time from Katie Marino off Dolby. Sophomore CC Cook came in with two on and two out in the inning. She gave up two more runs before BC's fourth pitcher Kendra Friedt came in to end the inning. Notre Dame took an 11-0 lead as BC gave up five runs, two hits and two errors in the fourth.
Game Notes
- Senior Allyson Moore extended her hitting streak to six games with a single in the second inning. In the last six games, Moore has six hits, eight total bases with six RBI.
- Senior Lexi DiEmmanuele had the only other hit in the game. She is now batting a team-high .349 with 37 hits and 18 runs scored. She has had nine multi-hit games this season.
- BC had three errors and left three runners on base. Notre Dame had no errors, six hits and left three runners on base.
