
Members of Track and Field Squads Named Eagles of the Week

Four members of the men's team and four member's of the women's team have been named the Nissan Eagles of the Week.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – After their performances this past weekend at the Penn Relays and the Skyhawk Invitational, members of the men's and women's track and field teams have been named the Nissan Eagles of the Week.

On the men's side, the Eagles' distance medley relay squad of Ian Ritchie, Marcus Manson, Matthew Morano and Sean Burke earned a sixth-place finish in the prestigious Championship of America section at the 125th Penn Relays. Ritchie led things off with a 2:59.6 on the 1,200m leg, followed by Manson in 48.05 at 400m, Morano in 1:51.36 at 800m, and Burke closing it out in 4:11.03 in the 1,600m. The Eagles were less than four seconds behind the winner Wisconsin.

On the women's side, four Eagles earned individual event wins at the Skyhawk Invitational at Stonehill College. Amanda Sinkewicz took the javelin throw, with a mark of 42.30m - 138'9". The Eagles swept through the distance events, as Katherine DeLoreto won the 1,500m in 4:42.31, Anna Flynn captured the 3,000m in 10:22.78, while Mary Kate Vaughn finished first in the 5,000m in 18:01.36.
