Austin Named to All-ACC Third Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Junior Derek Austin has been selected to the 2019 All-ACC Men's Tennis Third Team as the league announced its annual postseason honors on Thursday afternoon. Austin is the program's first All-ACC honoree since Akash Muppidi in 2012.

Austin posted a 12-13 singles record this season while playing in the No. 1 singles slot for the entire campaign. He closed out his junior year by upsetting No. 96 Simon Baudry of Clemson last week in the first round of the ACC Championship.

The California native won five in a row and seven of his first eight singles matches to begin the spring season. Austin finished the season with a 12-11 doubles record, playing with both Sean Mullins and Conor Mullins in the No. 1 slot.
