Sam Apuzzo reigned in the only unanimous vote as the All-ACC women's lacrosse teams were announced
GREENSBORO, N.C. (theacc.com) – Five standouts from the No. 1 Boston College women's lacrosse team have earned a spot on the 2019 All-ACC lineups. The group of Kenzie Kent, Sam Apuzzo, Dempsey Arsenault and Elizabeth Miller headline the First Team while sophomore goalkeeper Abbey Ngai earned Second Team nods.
Apuzzo appears on the All-ACC team for the third time in her career, as she the reigning Tewaaraton Award recipient was the only nominee to earn a unanimous vote from the conferences' coaches. Apuzzo leads the conference in scoring (5.65 points per game), goals (71) and comes in second in goals per game (4.18).
Kent makes her second appearance as she currently leads both the conference and nation in assists (57), assists per game (3.41) and holds the third spot in the ACC in scoring (5.53 points per game). She and Apuzzo headline the national ranks for points as Apuzzo has tallied 94 points and Kent has 92 through the season.
Arsenault and Miller both make their second appearance as well, as Arsenault ranked seventh in the conference in goals per game (3.06) and sixth in draws per game (4.59). Miller earned All-ACC First Team nods as one of BC's most consistent defenders as a junior as well.
Ngai earns her first All-ACC selection with a spot on the Second Team. The sophomore ranks third in the conference in saves per game (8.13) and fifth in saves percentage (.506).
The Eagles look to continue their success over the postseason as they rounded out their second-straight undefeated regular season. Boston College hosts Louisville in the first round of the ACC Quarterfinals on Wednesday at 11:00 am in Alumni Stadium.
