
Eagles See PR's and Relay Performances at Stanford, Raleigh

Ritchie wins his section of the 1,500m at Stanford; Burke records 26-second PR in the 10K
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — The Boston College men's track & field team put forth several personal-best performances over the weekend at the Stanford Invitational and Raleigh Relays.
On Saturday in Raleigh, the Eagles fielded three relay squads and had three student-athletes compete in the 400m hurdles. Max Herrerias was 14th in the 400m hurdles in a time of 54.91 seconds. Teammates Marcus Manson (55.75) and Khalfani Green (55.89) were 21st and 22nd, respectively.
BC's 4x800m relay team of Michael Hains, Matthew Morano, Colin Trigani, and Russell Wells finished fourth in a time of 7:34.10. In the 4x200m relay, Green, Herrerias, Marcus Manson, and Ryan Russell combined to finish sixth in a time of 1:27.88. In the 4x1500m relay, Zachary Beston, Kyle Faddis, Alexander Horgan, and Ben Ruffing teamed to run 15:57.07 - good for seventh place overall.
On Friday at Stanford, Ian Ritchie won his section of the 1,500m run, clocking a personal-best 3:49.28. The senior closed the final 400m in under-60 seconds holding on for the victory. Â
At the Raleigh Relays that same night, Sean Burke blazed to a 26-second PR in the 10,000m run. Burke ran 29:11.68, using a strong surge over the race's final 2K. It ranks among the top three all-time performances in the 10K in BC history.
In other results on Friday, Matthew Morano ran 49.78 in the 400m, finishing 33rd overall. Two Eagles competed in the 1,500m run, as Erik Linden ran 3:56.53 and Russell Wells followed in a time of 3:57.17. Sean Sullivan ran 9:15.60 in the 3,000m steeplechase.
In the sprint medley relay, Boston College's Marcus Manson (200), Ryan Russell (200), Max Herrerias (400), and Sean Conboy (800) placed ninth overall in a time of 3:32.23.
