BC Set to Open Outdoor Season at Stanford Invitational
March 29, 2019 | Women's Track & Field
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — The Boston College women's track & field team opens its 2019 outdoor season at the Stanford Invitational this weekend.
Three Eagles will compete in the invitational sections of their respective events: Julia Lyons (long jump), Emeline Delanis (10,000m), and Paige Duca (1,500). Lyons was the ECAC indoor long jump champion a season ago and had a season-best leap of 6.02m in February. Delanis - the 2019 ECAC Performer of the Meet after taking home the 3,000m and 5,000m titles - will race in the 10,000m. Duca returns to the track for BC after redshirting the 2019 indoor campaign and is in great form. She clocked 9:24.35 in January at the Terrier Classic, racing unattached.
"We are excited for the start of the outdoor season, the team is ready to get going," said assistant coach Julie Heyde. "It's a great opportunity for our athletes to be able to compete at a meet like the Stanford Invitational. They have top-level fields and the competition is excellent."
FloTrack will stream the Stanford Invitational live, while live results will be available here.
