
Eagles Host Houston Friday Before Visiting Louisville Sunday

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College women's tennis plays host to Houston on Friday (March 29) at 2 p.m. before an ACC trip to Louisville on Sunday (March 31) as it faces the Cardinals at 12 p.m. Live results for the Houston match are available at BCEagles.com.
EAGLE RECAP
The Eagles dropped a pair of tight ACC matches last weekend, falling to 11-7 (2-7 ACC) on the year. Boston College took 15th-ranked Florida State to the final set in singles on Friday afternoon, but the Seminoles outlasted the Eagles for a 4-3 ACC victory at the Flynn Recreation Complex. Andrea Garcia won the clinching match for Florida State in No. 6 singles, coming back to defeat BC rookie Laura Lopez 2-6, 7-5, 6-3 to break a 3-3 deadlock.
BC got off to a strong start on Sunday against 37th-ranked Georgia Tech, but the Yellow Jackets responded in singles play for a 5-2 ACC victory. Boston College's top doubles team of Yufei Long and Kylie Wilcox clinched the doubles point to open the match with a 6-4 victory. As the match shifted to singles, Natasha Irani dominated Cohen and dropped only two games in a 6-0, 6-2 triumph, but Georgia Tech came back to win the other five singles matchups.
SCOUTING HOUSTON
The Cougars enter the weekend at 11-4 overall and have won six straight matches, including a 6-1 victory over UTEP at home last Wednesday. Additionally, the Cougars haven't lost an individual match in the past three matches and have five sweeps in the last three weeks. Houston will also face UConn during its trip to the Northeast on Saturday in Storrs.Â
SCOUTING LOUISVILLE
The Cardinals bring a 10-9 (2-7 ACC) record into the weekend but have lost six straight overall. Louisville has only earned two points in those six contests as it fell to Duke and Wake Forest at home last weekend. BC came back to beat the 48th-ranked Cardinals 4-3 last season in Chestnut Hill as current Eagles Kylie Wilcox, Jackie Urbinati and Elene Tsokilauri earned singles victories.Â
