Sophomore goalkeeper reigns in weekly conference awards for the second time this season
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Sophomore goalkeeper Abbey Ngai has been tabbed as the ACC Defensive Player of the Week following a two-win week for the lacrosse team over UAlbany and No. 3 North Carolina.Â
Ngai racked up a career-best 14 saves in the 17-9 statement win over UAlbany on Tuesday, March 19 before turning away nine shots en route to holding North Carolina to their lowest scoring output of the season on Saturday. This marks the second time this season that the sophomore has earned weekly conference honors, as she was also named Defensive Player of the Week on March 12.
The No. 1 Eagles continue action on Saturday, March 30 when they host No. 7 Virginia at noon in Newton.
