Eagles Begin ACC Tournament on Tuesday vs. Pitt

BC enters the week as the 11 seed and will play at 7 p.m. on ESPNU
BOSTON COLLEGE VS. PITTSBURGH - ALL-TIME SERIES
- Today's game marks the 54th meeting between the two schools.
- Boston College is 19-34 all-time vs. Pittsburgh.
- In ACC play, the Eagles are 2-5 versus the Panthers.
- On Feb. 12, BC earned an 66-57 victory at the Conte Forum.
- From 1989-2004, both schools were members of the Big East.
- BC compiled a 15-27 mark vs. Pitt during that span.
- This is the first time that BC and Pitt have met in the ACC Tourney.
- BC and Pitt met seven times in the Big East Tournament, with the Eagles compiling a 3-4 overall record in the postseason.
BOSTON COLLEGE IN THE ACC TOURNAMENT
- In 23 games in ACC Tournament play, Boston College is 10-13.
- BC advanced to the 2018 ACC quarterfinals last year in Brooklyn.
- The Eagles downed Georgia Tech and N.C. State in the opening two rounds before falling to Clemson.
- In 2006, BC advanced to the ACC title game in Greensboro.
- That season - the school's first-ever ACC Tourney - BC downed Maryland (80-66) and North Carolina (85-82) before falling in the championship game to Duke (78-76).
BOSTON COLLEGE IN ACC REGULAR SEASON PLAY
- Boston College is 81-156 in 13 seasons in the ACC.
- The Eagles finished with a 5-13 record in ACC play this year. The Eagles were 7-11 in ACC play in 2017-18.
- BC's best ACC mark came in its inaugural season, going 11-5 in conference play in 2005-06 en route to a third place finish.
- BC tied for third in 2006-07 (10-6) and fourth in 2010-11 (9-7).
ACCOLADES FOR KY BOWMAN: EARNING SECOND TEAM ALL-ACC HONORS
- Ky Bowman was named to the All-ACC second team, in an announcement by the conference office on March 11.
- Bowman also received one vote for ACC Player of the Year. Duke's Zion Williamson won the award.
- Bowman received a total of 188 votes for all-conference honors, putting him on the second team.
- He finished the regular season as the only player in the ACC to rank among the top 10 in scoring, rebounding, and assists.
- Bowman finished the regular season fourth in scoring (19.2), eighth in assists (4.0), and 10th in rebounding (7.6).
- He also finished fifth in 3-pointers made (2.6 3FG/g) and eighth in 3-point FG percentage (37.9%).
- One of the top rebounding guards in the country, Bowman ranked third in the ACC in defensive rebounds (6.8 DR/g).
- In ACC play, he ranked fourth in scoring, sixth in assists, ninth in rebounds, third in 3FG made, and fourth in 3FG%.
- Last year, he was named to the league's All-ACC honorable mention list and the ACC All-Tournament Second Team. Â

ACC EXCLUSIVE & EAGLES AMONG THE LEAGUE LEADERS - FINAL REGULAR SEASON
- Ky Bowman was the only player in the ACC to rank among the top 10 in scoring, rebounding, and assists.
- He was also one of three players in the ACC to rank among the top 10 in scoring and rebounding - Zion Williamson (Duke), Jordan Nwora (Louisville).
- Nik Popovic was one of six ACC players to rank among the top 20 in the league in scoring and rebounding, and among the top 10 in FG percentage. The others: Williamson, John Mooney (Notre Dame), Cameron Johnson (UNC), Kerry Blackshear Jr. (Virginia Tech), and RJ Barrett (Duke).
BOSTON COLLEGE EXCLUSIVE - KY BOWMAN
- Ky Bowman is one of two players in BC history to accumulate 1,600 points, 600 rebounds, 350 assists, 125 steals, and 30 blocks.
- The other is Jared Dudley, who from 2003-07, tallied 2,071 points, 936 boards, 395 assists, 176 steals, and 37 blocks.
- Both players reached those career totals as juniors. Dudley was at 1500/688/305/134/27 at the conclusion of his third year.
- Bowman is one of only eight players in ACC history to reach his career totals in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks.
- Danny Ferry (Duke), Bob Sura (Florida State), Gene Banks (Duke), Julius Hodge (NC State), Grant Hill (Duke), Walter Davis (UNC), and Mike O'Koren (UNC) are the others.
BOSTON COLLEGE EXCLUSIVE - REBOUNDING
- Boston College is one of two teams in the country with three players averaging 7.1 rebounds per game or better.
- The Eagles' rebounding leaders are: Steffon Mitchell (8.0), Ky Bowman (7.6 rpg), and Nik Popovic (7.1).
- Texas Southern is the other school.

- Boston College is the only team in the country with four players averaging 13.1 points per game or better.
- The Eagles' scoring leaders are: Ky Bowman (19.2 ppg), Nik Popovic (14.2), Wynston Tabbs (13.9), and Jordan Chatman (13.1).
JORDAN CHATMAN BECOMES 44TH MEMBER OF BOSTON COLLEGE'S 1,000 POINT CLUB
- With his 3FG with 14:48 to play vs. Pitt on Feb. 17, Jordan Chatman became the 44th member of BC's 1,000 point club.
- Chatman reached 1,000 career points in 87 games in a BC uniform.
- Earlier in the sJeason - Jan. 26 at Wake Forest - Chatman reached the 1,000 point mark for his collegiate career.
- He reached that milestone 115 total games into his career between BYU and Boston College, from 2015-present.
WITH OR WITHOUT YOU - TABBS AND BOWMAN
- When Wynston Tabbs is in the Boston College lineup, the Eagles are 10-5 overall - and 1-1 in ACC play.
- Over the 15 full games he has missed, BC is 4-11 - all in ACC play.
- In the 15 games with Tabbs is in the lineup, Ky Bowman is averaging 21.8 points per game, connecting on 46.2% of his field goals and close to 41.0% from beyond the arc.
- In the 14 games that Tabbs has missed, Bowman is scoring 5.3 points per game less - 16.4 ppg - while shooting 11 percent lower from the floor (35.3) and six percent lower from 3-point land (35.2%).
STEFFON MITCHELL STILL STUFFING STAT SHEETS AS A SOPHOMORE
- Steffon Mitchell has led Boston College in at least one statistical category in 23 of the 26 games in which he has appeared.
- Last time out vs. N.C. State, Mitchell led BC with 12 rebounds and two blocked shots.
- At Georgia Tech, Mitchell registered team highs with 10 rebounds and seven assists.
- Mitchell has led BC in assists seven times this year, including a career-best seven twice.
- On Jan. 20 vs. Florida State, Mitchell led the team in assists (4), blocks (3), and steals (2), while also grabbing eight boards.
- The sophomore has led the team in rebounding 12 times, including a season-high 14 boards vs. Milwaukee on Nov. 6.
- He has led BC in blocked shots 15 times so far in 2018-19 - including a career-high five swats against Pittsburgh on Feb. 12.
- He has led the Eagles in steals on eight occasions, including a career-best five swipes vs. Providence on Dec. 4.
- Last year, Mitchell led BC in at least one stat category - scoring, rebounding, assists, blocks, or steals - in 31 of 34 games
- Mitchell has four double-doubles so far in 2018-19 and six for his career.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE, ANIMAL STYLE
- Ky Bowman (eight) and Nik Popovic (seven) have combined for 15 double-doubles in points and rebounds this season.
- Their combined 14 double-doubles are the most by a pair of BC teammates in a single-season since 2005-06.
- In 2005-06, Dudley (4) and Craig Smith (15) had 19 double-doubles. In 2004-05, Dudley (7) and Smith (8) combined for 15.
DOUBLE DOUBLE-DOUBLES
- Nik Popovic and Ky Bowman have each registered double-doubles in the same game on four occasions.
- On Jan. 12 at Notre Dame, Bowman had 24 points and 16 rebounds while Popovic tallied 15 points and 10 boards.
- Versus Hartford, Bowman (44 pts/10 reb) and Popovic (13 pts/10 reb) each recorded a double-double.
- Against Columbia, Popovic and Bowman became the first BC pair to tally a double-double in the same game in 12 years.
- Popovic registered career-highs in points (22) and rebounds (14), while Bowman added 24 points and 10 boards.
- In BC's next game vs. Fairfield, Bowman had 19 points and 12 boards, while Popovic had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
- Entering this season, the last time two BC players had a double-double in the same game happened on Dec. 28, 2006.
- Sean Marshall (30 pts/10 reb) and Sean Williams (19 pts/10 reb) had double-doubles for BC vs. Duquesne.
POPOVIC PERFECT
- Nik Popovic registered the fourth-best single-game shooting performance in BC history, going 9-for-9 vs. Minnesota.
- It is the fourth time a BC player attempted at least nine field goals without a miss.
- The last BC player to go at least 9-for-9 from the floor was Corey Raji, who was 12-for-12 vs. Maine on Dec. 23, 2008.
- Martin Clark (13-13) holds the record, set on Dec. 13, 1982 vs. Bentley. Â
NOT THROWING AWAY HIS SHOT
- Jared Hamilton is averaging 7.7 points per game over his last 10 outings, connecting on close to 45% from the floor.
- At N.C. State on Feb. 20, Hamilton scored 16 points (7-14 FG) connecting on 7-of-10 shots inside the arc.
- At home vs. Notre Dame, he earned his second start of the season and scored a season-high 17 points to go with three assists.
- Hamilton added 12 points off the bench against Syracuse, while also notching two steals in 29 minutes.
- During the 10-game span, he is averaging close to 2.0 offensive rebounds per game.
- A transfer (Georgia Southern), he arrived at BC during the 2018 spring semester and became eligible at DePaul on Dec. 22.
THERE'S A MILLION THINGS I HAVEN'T DONE, BUT JUST YOU WAIT
- Jairus Hamilton has been shooting the ball with confidence over his last six outings.
- The freshman is averaging 7.9 ppg over his last seven, shooting close to 40% from 3-point land.
- The younger Hamilton reached double-digits in three of the last six contests, including a season-high 17 at Clemson.
- At N.C. State, he scored 11 points (4-8 FG), including the game-tying FG that forced overtime with under a minute to play.
FOR THE ANALYTICS CROWD
- So far this season, Boston College has had six single-game efficiency ratings of 30 or more.

- At Georgia Tech on March 3, Nik Popovic registered a season-high 33.
