Eagles Head to Northeast Regionals

The qualification event will be hosted by Columbia at Vassar.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College fencing team is set to send several student-athletes to the strip compete in the 2019 NCAA Northeast Regionals on Sunday, March 10. The one-day competition is being hosted by Columbia University at Vassar College.
Boston College will be among the 18 schools competing in hopes of earning a spot in the NCAA Championships.
The following athletes are set to compete for the Eagles in these events:
Men's Epee: Thomas Junseo Park, Griffen Rollert, Aiden Banyon-Mrak
Men's Foil: Philip Acinapuro, Ari Lichy, Cameron Mayer
Men's Sabre: Bolang Meng, Spencer Kuldell, Connor Rounds, Ben Slavin
Women's Epee: Jaime Bang, Laura Boden, Christina Ko, Lucy Hanson
Women's Foil: Madison Lee, Brooke Solsky, Kayla Moy
Women's Sabre: Gabrielle Chau, Crystal Chen, Gillian Lawlor
Qualification for the NCAA Championship is based on a formula comprising a 60 percent weight on regional performance and 40 percent regular-season meets. The top eight fencers in all events except women's sabre (nine qualifiers) will qualify for nationals, with a maximum of two fencers per team in each event. The next two regional finishers are put into the at-large pool. Two total at-large spots in the epee, foil and sabre for both men's and women's competitors will be awarded.
