
Eagles Set to Host Huskies in Hockey East Quarterfinals

UConn visits Chestnut Hill for the best-of-three playoff series.

Boston College (23-10-1, 19-7-1 HEA) enters Friday's game unbeaten in the last five games, going 4-0-1 to finish the regular season with a 3-3 tie at New Hampshire coming in the final game. Megan Keller (18-23-41) leads the team in points while Daryl Watts (19-20-39) is second in points and first in goals and Makenna Newkirk's 24 assists is a team-high. Newkirk (10-24-34) and Caitrin Lonergan (13-21-34) are tied for third on the team in scoring.
UConn (14-6-4, 9-14-4 HEA) is led by Natalie Snodgrass' 26 points on the year with a team-high 13 goals and 13 assists. Briana Colangelo was tied for second in points on the strength of a team-leading 17 helpers and seven goals.
BC has an overall record of 20-10-0 in the conference tournament and mark of 5-5-0 as the No. 2 seed, winning the 2011 title as the second seed. BC and UConn have met three times before in the conference tournament, with all three games coming in the semifinals and BC holding a 2-1-0 record.

ABOUT BOSTON COLLEGE
• The Eagles enter Friday's game unbeaten in the last five games, going 4-0-1 to finish the regular season.
• BC capped off the regular season with a 3-3 tie at New Hampshire on Feb. 23 ... the Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to Lindsay Agnew and Kali Flanagan but UNH scored three unanswered before Erin Connolly's goal in the third sent it to overtime.
• It was the first tie of the season for BC, and gave the Eagles a final mark of 23-10-1 overall and 19-7-1 in Hockey East play to secure the second seed.

ABOUT UCONN
• The seventh-seeded Huskies finished the regular season at 14-16-4 overall and 9-14-4 in league play.
• Natalie Snodgrass put up 26 points on the year with a team-high 13 goals and 13 assists ... Briana Colangelo was tied for second in points on the strength of a team-leading 17 helpers and seven goals.
• Four of of Savannah Bouzide's eight goals this year have been game-winners.
• Fourteen players on the UConn roster have Hockey East Tournament experience, with all 14 being members of last year's run to the championship game.
• Morgan Fisher has played the majority of minutes in net, posting a 11-15-3 record with a 2.40 goals against average, .915 save percentage and three shutouts.
• The Huskies had a season-long winning streak of six games but enter Friday 1-6-3 in the last 10 contests.
BC IN THE HOCKEY EAST TOURNAMENT
• Boston College is playing in its 14th Hockey East Tournament this season ... that ties with UConn for the third-most appearances in league history behind Providence (17) and New Hampshire (15).
• The Eagles have won three titles (2011, 2016, 2017) and advanced to four out of the last five championship games ... BC's seven championship game appearances are most in league history.
• BC is 20-10-0 all-time in the Hockey East Tournament, second only to Boston University's 23-9-0 mark.
• The Eagles are 10-1-0 in the quarterfinal round.
• The 2010 season was the lone year in which the Eagles failed to advance to at leaast the semifinals.
• BC has a mark of 5-5-0 in the tournament as the No. 2 seed, winning the 2011 title as the second seed.
TRYING TO FIND THE FOURTH
• Boston College is in search of its fourth Hockey East Tournament title.
• The Eagles broke a five-year drought in 2016 with a 5-0 win over Boston University and repeated in 2017 with a 2-1 win over Northeastern before falling in last year's semifinal round to UConn (4-2).
• BC won its first championship in 2011, topping fifth-seeded Northeastern, 3-1, while seeded second.
IT'S WORTH NOTING
• BC earned its 20th win of the season on Feb. 8 against UNH, making it one of five teams in the country to be at the mark at that one of the season and one of eight to close out the regular season.
• The Eagles surrender 23.09 shots on goal per game, fourth fewest in the country.
• BC has seven players with at least 20 points ... that's tied for second most in the country behind Minnesota's nine players with 20-plus points.
• Kali Flanagan and Ryan Little have each played in 152 career games, tied for sixth in program history.
• Kelly Browne is second among conference rookies and sixth overall in face-off wins with 308.
• As a team, BC is one of five teams in the country to have at least 300 points ... the Eagles have combined for 313 points (115-198-313).
• Megan Keller has registered at least one point in 26 of her 33 games played this season and has 11 multi-point outings.
• Caitrin Lonergan's .615 face-off winning percentage is third in the league while Makenna Newkirk's .577 is eighth.
• Daryl Watts is fourth in Hockey East with an average of 4.85 shots on goal per game while Lonergan is sixth with an average of 4.47.
• Among forwards, Newkirk's 51 blocks leads all of Hockey East and is tied for eighth in the country.
• BC started Hockey East play 5-0-0 for the first time since the 2015-16 season.

• Megan Keller leads all defensemen nationally in scoring with 41 points on 18 goals and 23 assists.
• The senior leads all defenders in goals, assists, points, goals per game (0.55), points per game (1.24), and game-winning goals (5) and is tied for first in power-play goals (6).
• Northeastern's Skylar Fontaine with 28 points and Cornell's Jaime Bourbonnais with 1.08 points per sit second to Keller in those categories.• Among all skaters in the country, Keller ranks in the top 16 in points (t-12th), goals (t-16th), assists (t-14th), power-play points (t-13th), power-play goals (t-5th) game-winning goals (t-4th) and points per game (15th) and plus/minus (t-9th).
• The last defender to average at least 1.25 points per game for a season was Keller when she finished her sophomore 2015-16 season at 1.27 per game.
• Keller has 114 shots on goal and is averaging 3.45 shots on goal per game, with both of those numbers ranking third among blue liners.
• She has registered at least one point in 26 of her 33 games played and has 11 multi-point outings on the year.
• The Farmington Hills, Mich. native set a new Hockey East single-season points record for a defender on Jan. 25 against Providence and set the single-season goals record on Feb. 8 versus UNH.
• With the goal against the Wildcats, she became the sixth player in program history to reach 150 career points.
• She has a 16-21-37 scoring line in conference play, good for a tie for third overall.
• In the month of January, Keller was on the ice for 71 percent of BC's even-strength goals.
• She was named the Hockey East Player of the Month for January ... it was the first time a defenseman has been named Player of the Month since she took home the honor for February 2017.
IT'S GETTING HOT IN HERE
• As the Eagles enter the postseason, several players are heating up.
• Lindsay Agnew is sporting a three-game goal-scoring streak and has potted a goal in six of the last eight games.
• Caitrin Lonergan has put up 15 points over the last 12 games on the back of an 11-game point streak... the junior had three multi-point outings during that streak.
• Daryl Watts has picked up 13 points in the last eight games ... the sophomore has registered multiple points in three out of her last five games.
• Captain Makenna Newkirk has registered at least one point in nine of the last 11 games ... she has 13 points over those 11 games.
• Serena Sommerfield has registered at least one point in eight of the last 11 contests and assisted on two game-winning goals in that span.
• Freshman Kelly Browne has scored in five the last eight games ... in the last seven games, Browne has nine points.
BALANCED ATTACK
• The Eagles have 20 players with at least one point and 17 players have scored at least one goal.
• BC has 12 players with at least 10 points, which is tied for third in the country and seven players with at least 20 points, which ties for second in the nation ...
• The Eagles have four players with at least 30 points, which ties for Clarkson for the most in the country.
• Nine different players have scored game-winning goals for BC … seven of those players have scored multiple game-winning goals and four have at least three.
• Eight players have scored at least five goals for the Eagles and 11 players have potted at least three goals.
