Four Eagles Place Top-25 in Slalom at UVM Carnival

STOWE, Vt. – The Boston College alpine ski team earned four top-25 finishes in the slalom on Saturday during day two of the UVM Carnival at Stowe Mountain Resort. The women's team placed sixth out of 13 schools to close out the event, while the men were ninth.

Senior captain Aaron Taylor capped off an impressive weekend for the men by finishing 19th overall with a combined time of 1:54.17. Chris Bertram was only four spots behind Taylor in 23rd with a time of 1:55.04, while Trent Gutstein placed 31st for the Eagles in 1:57.23.

On the women's side, Madeline Davis (2:09.97) and Natalie Wetmore (2:10.37) finished back-to-back in 20th and 21st to lead the team in the slalom. Newcomer Kelsie Grant gave the Eagles three skiers in the top-30 as she posted a combined time of 2:18.68, while captain Amanda Steffey placed 41st with her time of 2:28.06.

Both squads collected seventh place in the giant slalom on Friday.

Boston College continues the EISA circuit next weekend (Feb. 8-9) at the Dartmouth Carnival in New Hampshire.
