Eagles Fall to Brown 5-2 in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Boston College fell on the road to Brown 5-2 on Tuesday night at the Pizzitola Sports Center. The Eagles dropped below .500 at 4-5 (0-3 ACC) on the season.

BC began the match by winning the doubles point against the Bears. Derek Austin and Sean Mullins earned a 6-3 victory in No. 1 doubles, and the team of Conor Mullins and Markus Nordby clinched the point by pulling out their match 7-5.
Austin was the only Eagle to win his singles match on Tuesday as he defeated Peter Litsky in three sets 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 in the No. 1 slot. Nordby and Max Mendelsohn each went to three sets before falling in the No. 3 and 4 slots to Jacob Walker and Roger Chou. Brown added three other singles victories in straight sets to complete the comeback win.Â

The Eagles won't compete again until the Pacific Coast Men's Doubles Championships in La Jolla, California on the weekend of March 1-3. BC will also face UC Irvine on Monday, March 4 at 4 p.m. (ET).Â
