Eagles Fall To No. 6 Notre Dame, 97-47

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's basketball team fell to No. 4 Notre Dame, 97-47, at Conte Forum on Wednesday evening.

Freshman guard Taylor Soule led the Eagles with 11 points and three rebounds. Junior forwards Georgia Pineau and Emma Guy followed up with eight points apiece, while pulling down six and four rebounds, respectively. Â

Notre Dame (23-3, 10-2) set the tone for the game, opening up with a two-minute, 8-0 run, before Soule put the Eagles on the board with a put-back at the 8:07 mark. BC forced eight Fighting Irish turnovers in first quarter, but the Eagles could not quiet the Notre Dame offense that shot 53.87 percent from the field. The Irish jumped out to a 22-11 lead after one quarter of play.

Keeping its up-tempo offense, Notre Dame began the second quarter with an 11-2 run, shooting 52.9 percent from the floor to go into the locker room with a commanding lead.

BC put up a game-high 18 points in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Irish by nine. Soule notched nine, going a perfect 4-for-4 from the field and completing an and-1 play. Pineau had three assists in the fourth to go along with a block and an offensive rebound.
