No. 9 Boston University Holds Off No. 8 Boston College

The Terriers held off the complete Eagles' comeback on Saturday afternoon.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Kelly Browne scored a game-tying goal midway through the third period, but the No. 9/9 Boston University found a game-winning goal minutes later and hung on for a 2-1 win over the No. 8/8 Boston College women's hockey team at Kelley Rink on Saturday afternoon.

After a scoreless first period, the Terriers capitalized on a five-minute power play to take a 1-0 lead into the second intermission. Browne's eighth goal of the season at the 10:18 mark of the third period gave the Eagles life but the Terriers capitalized on another power play minutes later and fended off the BC comeback.

Maddy McArthur made 28 saves for the Eagles, including 12 in the final frame, while Corinne Schroeder had 25 stops for the visitors.

The Terriers went 2-for-5 on the power play while the Eagles were 1-for-5. BU outshot BC, 30-26.

- 2nd, 11:23 | 0-1, BUÂ GOAL: On a five-minute power play, Kaleigh Donnelly got the puck in the right circle and sent it across to Sammy Davis in the left for a wrist shot over McArthur's glove.
- 3rd, 10:18 | 1-1, BC GOAL: Cayla Barnes worked the puck from the point down to Bridget McCarthy in the left circle, and the senior took a shot that rebounded to Browne for a finish from the bottom of the right circle.
- 3rd, 12:28 | 1-2, BU GOAL: Donnelly worked the puck up to the point and from the middle of the blue line, Abby Cook for a long wrist shot through traffic.
- BC now holds a 31-21-7 all-time mark against BU … the Eagles have a mark of 12-9-4 in home games against the Terriers.
- Of the 59 meetings in the all-time series, 23 of them have been decided by one goal or less.
- Kelly Browne now has three career goals and three career power-play goals against the Eagles … Browne now has a team-leading 24 points on eight goals and a team-high 16 assists.
- Bridget McCarthy's assist was her third of the season and the first of her career against the Terriers
- Maegan Beres finished with a game-high three blocked shots.
