Boston University used a strong second period to take the second game of the regular season series.
BOSTON – The No. 9/9 Boston University women's hockey team used a second period scoring surge to top No. 8/8 Boston College, 6-0, on Friday night at Walter Brown Arena.
The Terriers scored twice in the first period and then in the second period, the hosts potted three goals in a span of just over eight minutes for a firm lead heading into the final frame. BU would add a final goal late in the third stanza.
Maddy McArthur made 13 saves before giving way to Kelly Pickreign midway through the second period. Pickreign would go on to make 27 stops for BC while Corinne Schroeder finished with 21 saves for BU.
The Terriers went 1-for-4 on the power play while the Eagles were 0-for-3. BU held the 46-21 lead in shots on goal.

- 1st, 6:58 | 0-1, BU GOAL: After a point shot from Nadia Mattivi was saved, Emma Wuthrich picked up the rebound at the top of the crease and flicked it inside the far post.
- 1st, 18:26 | 0-2, BU GOAL: Alexandra Calderone took a low slap shot from the blue line that Mackenna Parker was able to redirect high, over McArthur's shoulder.
- 2nd, 6:30 | 0-3, BU GOAL: After picking the puck up in the right corner, Sammy Davis skated through the zone and was able to eventually wrist a short-handed shot home from the left hash marks.
- 2nd, 8:10 | 0-4, BU GOAL: Jesse Compher took a pass out of the corner and played a give-and-go before putting her own rebound into the upper right corner.
- 2nd, 14:59 | 0-5, BU GOAL: Courtney Correia fore checked the BC defense into a turnover and walked in on Pickreign for a deke and backhand finish.
- 3rd, 15:50 | 0-6, BC GOAL: Parker took a puck over the blue line on the left side, cut behind a defender and wristed the puck over Pickreign's right shoulder.
- BC now holds a 31-20-7 all-time mark against BU … the Eagles have a mark of 14-9-2 in road games.
- This marked the fourth consecutive game against a ranked opponent for the Eagles … the last time BC played four consecutive games against ranked teams came during the 2013-14 season.
- Kelly Browne led the Eagles with 13 face-off wins on the night ... the sophomore has now won at least 10 draws in 14 out of BC's 18 contests this season.
- Maddy McArthur earned her 50th career appearance and start in the game.
