Six to Represent Eagles at US Open

Six members of the swim and dive team have qualified to compete at the 2019 US Open in Atlanta
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Six members of the Boston College swim and dive team are set to compete in the 2019 US Open in Atlanta. The three-day meet will take place from Dec. 4 to 7 at the McCauley Aquatic Center on Georgia Tech's campus. Matt Clark and Sofia Zinis will represent the Eagles' freshmen class, joining teammates Ali Kea, Sam Roche, Maura Grimes and Colin O'Leary.

The Eagles last competed at the annual Terrier Invitational hosted by Boston University, where BC came out with its first overall win since competing in the invitational. At the three-day meet, Grimes placed first in the 100 backstroke with a 54.69 performance, claiming the all-time program record. Roche contributed in four first-place wins for the Eagles, taking the top spot in the 50 freestyle (20.62), 100 freestyle (45.88), 100 butterfly (49.39) and in the 400 freestyle relay (3:00.05).
The preliminary competition will be streamed by USA Swimming while Saturday's A Group final will be streamed on NBC Sports live at 7:00 PM.
