
Eagles Compete at US Open

Four swimmers recorded lifetime best performances in Atlanta
ATLANTA, Ga. -- Six student-athletes represented the Boston College swim and dive team at the 2019 US Open in Atlanta. Freshmen Sofia Zinis and Matt Clark, sophomore Sam Roche and juniors Colin O'Leary, Ali Kea and Maura Grimes competed against over 1,000 athletes, including Olympians and National Team members.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- Clark recorded a lifetime best in the 200 individual medley, finishing in 2:07.08. He also marked a lifetime best in the 50 freestyle time trial, clocking in at 24.45.
- O'Leary marked lifetime bests in both the 100 and 200 backstroke, finishing in 58.95 and 2:09.05 respectively.
- Roche finished the 100 butterfly in 57.24 to mark a lifetime best.
- Grimes placed 69th out of 140 swimmers in the 100 back, with a lifetime best 1:04.15 finish.
The Eagles open up 2020 on the road, taking on Harvard and Miami in Coral Gables on Saturday, Jan. 4.
