Jammed packed first 24 hours in Birmingham for the Eagles
HOOVER, Ala. – The Boston College football team held its first practice in Alabama for the TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl on Monday at Hoover High School. The Eagles donned helmets and shoulder pads for the nearly two-hour workout.

BC arrived in Birmingham on Sunday afternoon following its final practice at Fish Field House Sunday morning before departing. Last evening, the Eagles enjoyed a trip to the gift suite provided by the bowl as the student-athletes' got to choose from an assortment of gifts.

Sunday night wrapped up with an E-Sports Tournament between BC and Cincinnati. BC true freshman quarterback Daelen Menard won the Madden tournament for the Eagles' first victory of bowl week.

Following Monday's practice, interim head coach Rich Gunnell met with the local Birmingham media.

"It is always a great feeling to be extending your season," Gunnell said from Hoover on Monday. "A lot of teams do not have the opportunity to be a part of bowl season and we got the opportunity. We are very excited to be here."

Monday's bowl activities include a visit by 25 student-athletes and Gunnell to the Children's Hospital in Birmingham. The bowl will also provide a Regions Financial Symposium for the team Monday afternoon along with a team dinner at the Stardome Comedy Club Monday night.
