Eagles returned to the practice field for first time after Easter break
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – After a five-day Easter break, the 2026 Boston College Football program returned to the practice field inside Fish Field House on Tuesday morning for its 12th practice of the spring.
In the team's opening competitive period of week five, Cameron Martinez energized the defense with a pass breakup deep down the sideline in opposing territory. The offense responded with two explosive runs from Maryland transfer Nolan Ray and freshman Sedric Addison.
Tuesday's competitive intensity increased during a one-on-one period between the Eagles' wide receivers and defensive backs. Pass catchers Reed Swanson, Nedrick Boldin Jr., Johnathan Montague, and Jackson Wade each found the end zone. As the period continued, Njita Sinkala, Max Tucker, and Carter Davis prevented touchdowns with pass breakups of their own.
Momentum from the one-on-one period carried into a 7-on-7 drill, with both the offense and defense making a handful of plays. Mason McKenzie connected with wide receiver Reed Swanson for a touchdown before Marcus Upton broke up a pass in the end zone to prevent another score. The offense later responded with a touchdown reception by VJ Wilkins from freshman quarterback Femi Babalola.
The Eagles closed Tuesday's practice with a series of situational scenarios, highlighted by another touchdown reception from Reed Swanson, this time from McKenzie. On the final play of the day, Alabama transfer Kameron Howard broke up a pass near the back pylon to save a touchdown.
Boston College returns to the practice field Wednesday for its second practice of the final week of spring ball. Practices are closed to the public.
