CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's basketball team returns to the Big Ten/ACC Challenge for the first time since 2016. The Eagles will travel to play Northwestern on Wed., Dec. 4 at 8 p.m. (ET). Fans can view the game on the BTN+.
This is the 10th time BC has qualified for the challenge. BC is 3-6 in the challenge. Boston College and Northwestern played in the 2012 ACC-Big Ten Challenge with the Wildcats earning a 67-63 win at Conte Forum.
This is the first trip to the challenge for BC since the Eagles hosted Penn State in 2016. The Nittany Lions defeated BC, 60-56, at Conte Forum. The Eagles last victory in the challenge was in 2015 as they defeated Purdue, 58-56, on three-pointer at the buzzer by Nicole Boudreau '16.
One of the greatest challenge games for BC took place in 2010. BC defeated Penn State in double-overtime, 113-104, at Conte Forum.

- The Eagles and Wildcats last played in 2012 in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge. Northwestern won, 67-63, on Nov. 28, in Conte Forum.
- BC played in the Mildred & Ralph L. White Invitational in 2007 at Northwestern. The Eagles won the tournament with a win against Wagner, followed by a win over host Northwestern, 73-66. Stefanie Murphy '11 was the tournament MVP, while Carolyn Swords '11 was named to the all-tournament team.

- Boston College defeated Tulane, 89-76, behind a career-high 27 points from redshirt sophomore Cameron Swartz and 15 points, five rebounds and six steals from sophomore Marnelle Garraud. Senior Emma Guy pitched in with 17 points and five boards.
- In the first quarter the backcourt tandem of Swartz and Garraud combined for 17 points and five steals as BC held a 32-14 lead after one quarter. The Eagles increased to 53-28 at the half as the team shot 57.1 percent from the floor.
- Boston College shot a season-high 58.6 percent for the game and won the battle of the boards, 30-24.
- It was also the second straight game BC had 12 steals.

- The Eagles are third in the ACC in scoring offense (79.5) and fourth in field goal percentage (46.6%). The team is 25th in the country in scoring offense and 23rd in field goal percentage. The Eagles are also 77th in the country in steals (9.9 a game).
- Sophomore Marnelle Garraud leads the ACC in steals (21 in eight games). The guard from Lynn has swiped a career-high six steals in two games this season – vs. Lowell, vs. Tulane. She is 29th in the country in total steals.
- Senior Emma Guy is fifth in the ACC in field goal percentage (.569), while teammate r-sophomore Cameron Swartz is seventh (.526).
