Eagles Wrap Up First Semester of Competition at Brandeis Invitational

The men’s side picked up two bout wins, topping the University of the Incarnate Word and Cornell, while the women earned a win over the University of the Incarnate Word.
WALTHAM, Mass. – The Boston College fencing team wrapped up its first semester of competition today at the Brandeis Invitational. The men's side picked up two bout wins, topping the University of the Incarnate Word and Cornell, while the women earned a win over the University of the Incarnate Word.

MEN'S RESULTS
-The sabre squad went 4-1 on the day, topping Incarnate Word, Cornell, St. John's and Harvard, and picked up two 9-0 wins over Incarnate Word and Cornell
-The epee squad was 3-2 after picking up wins over Incarnate Word, Yale, and Cornell
-With wins over Incarnate Word, Cornell and St. John's the foil squad finished 3-2

-Katarina Hone earned a 5-4 win in sabre over Cornell's Esther Bentolila, who was an All-American last year after finishing sixth at the NCAA championships
-With wins over Incarnate Word, Yale and Cornell, the epee squad was 3-2 on the day
-The foil squad picked up a 7-2 win over nearby Harvard
