Steffon Mitchell leads BC in rebounding (9.1), blocks (1.4), and steals (2.2) per game, while ranking second in assists (3.4).
He is the only player nationally to log 9.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.2 steals, and 1.4 blocked shots per game.
Mitchell has led the team in rebounding in six games, blocks on five occasions, and assists and steals three times.
Against High Point, Mitchell logged his seventh career double-double, with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
It was his highest scoring total and first double-double since Dec. 4, 2018 vs. Providence (10p/11r).
In the ACC, he ranks third in steals, sixth in rebounding, 10th in blocks, and 11th in assist/turnover ratio.
In 191 minutes played through seven games, Mitchell has committed only 12 turnovers.

Mitchell has led BC in at least one statistical category (scoring, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks) in 62 of his 68 career games.
The 6-7 forward is the ACC's active rebounding leader, averaging 8.2 rebounds per game for his 68-game career.
Last year, he ranked fifth overall in the league (7.9 rpg). As a freshman, he ranked seventh in the conference (8.3 rpg).
The Shakopee, Minn. native became the first true freshman in Boston College history to average better than 8.0 rpg.
He has registered 10 or more rebounds in a game on 23 occasions.
A skilled passer from the post, he is averaging 2.4 assists per game as well as a 2.27:1 assist/turnover ratio in his career.

Graduate transfer Derryck Thornton has returned to the ACC to play his final season of eligibility.
He is Boston College's leading scorer (16.4 ppg) and ranks eighth in the ACC in scoring.
His top two career scoring performances - 23 vs. Wake Forest and 22 at USF - came in the first two games of the season.
Overall, three of Thornton's top five and five of his top 11 single-game scoring totals have come in a BC uniform.
Thornton began his career at Duke in 2015-16, averaging 7.1 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 36 games (20 starts).
The Los Angeles native transferred to USC, where he played two seasons for the Trojans from 2017-19.
Thornton averaged 6.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in 57 games at USC, posting a 1.73:1 assist/turnover ratio.
Last season, the 6-3, 195 lb. point guard averaged 7.7 points, 2.8 boards, 4.3 assists, and a 2.2:1 assist/turnover ratio.
His assist/turnover mark ranked third in the Pac 12, while his assists average ranked sixth-best in the conference in 2018-19.

JAY DOT BUCKETS

Jay Heath ranks fourth nationally among freshman in 3FG%, making 52.2% of his attempts from beyond the arc (12-23).
Over his last three games, Heath has made 9-of-13 from the perimeter, including 5-of-7 vs. Eastern Washington.
The last BC freshman to make five 3-pointers in a game: Ky Bowman (5) vs. Notre Dame on Feb. 14, 2017.
Heath has scored in double figures in five of his first six games - and ranks third on the squad in scoring (12.7 ppg)
The D.C. native scored 18 points in the season-opening win over Wake Forest.
He ranks fourth among all ACC freshmen in scoring (12.7 ppg), fourth in 3FGM (12), and is third in steals (10).

NOT THROWING AWAY HIS SHOT

Over his last five games, Jared Hamilton has connected on 15-of-30 shots from the floor - a 50% shooting percentage.
Against Eastern Washington - Hamilton made 5-of-9 shots (1-3 3FG), tying his season-high with 12 points.
He also scored a dozen against High Point, making 5-of-6 attempts - including 2-of-2 from 3-point land.
He ranks fourth on the team in scoring, at 7.6 points per game, this season.

NIK POPOVIC: THE ACC'S MOST UNDERAPPRECIATED PLAYER

Nik Popovic enters the 2019-20 season as the most underappreciated player in the ACC.
Last year, he was one of only six players in the ACC to rank in the top 20 in scoring and rebounding and top 10 in FG%.
The others: RJ Barrett/Zion Williamson (Duke), Kerry Blackshear Jr. (VT), Torin Dorn (NCST), and John Mooney (ND).
He averaged 14.5 points (17th), 7.2 rebounds (15th), while connecting on 52.6% (3rd) of his FG attempts - all career-highs.
In his first two seasons, Popovic registered two double-doubles. In 2018-19, he had seven - tying for 10th-best in the ACC.
Popovic has improved his season averages in scoring, rebounding and FG% in each of his three seasons at the Heights.
