
Norcross Nets Third-Period Game-Winning Goal at UConn

Savannah Norcross scored the game-winning goal with just over a minute to play in the third period.
STORRS, Conn. – Savannah Norcross scored with just over a minute remaining in the third period to lift the No. 6/6 Boston College women's hockey team to a 2-1 victory over UConn on Saturday afternoon at the Freitas Ice Forum.
Cayla Barnes gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead six minutes into the game with her fourth goal of the season. UConn evened the score up 59 seconds into the middle frame and would keep pushing for a lead but BC was able to kill off two late penalties and Maddy McArthur made 10 stops in the period.
The Eagles fired 17 shots on goal in the final frame, but it would take until the final 90 seconds for one to go in, with Norcross tucking home the game-winning goal with 1:11 remaining on the clock.
McArthur finished with 20 saves for BC while Morgan Fisher had 28 stops for UConn. BC had the 30-21 lead in shots on goal while neither BC (0-for-3) or UConn (0-for-2) converted on the power play.

- 1st, 6:10 | 1-0, BC GOAL: After Barnes kept the puck in at the left point, she skated it into the high slot before toe dragging the puck at the hashmarks to get a shot off that snuck inside the left post.
- 2nd, 0:59 | 1-1, UCONN GOAL: Danielle Fox tracked down a dump in and fed a pass back in front to Danika Pasqua for a finish from the top of the crease.
- 3rd, 18:49 | 2-1, BC GOAL: Fisher saved Kelly Browne's shot from the slot but the rebound dropped behind her in the crease and Hannah Bilka pushed it over to the right post where Norcross muscled it inside the post.
- BC now holds a 37-17-10 all-time mark against UConn … the Eagles have a record of 14-9-8 against UConn in Storrs.
- Savannah Norcross' tally marked her third career goal against UConn … it was also her third game-winning goal of the season, tied with Hannah Bilka for most on the team.
- Cayla Barnes has registered at least one point in 11 of her 14 games played this season … she has one goal and five assists for six career points against UConn.
- Bilka recorded her 10th assist of the season … she has a team-leading 21 points on 11 goals and 10 helpers.
- Kelly Browne's third-period assist gives her a team-leading 14 on the year ... Browne finished with a game-high eight shots on goal.
