
Third-Period Goals Power Eagles Past Terriers

The No. 6/6 Boston College Eagles scored three unanswered goals in the third period for a 4-2 comeback win at Boston University.
BOSTON – The No. 6/6 Boston College women's hockey team scored three goals in the third period to complete a 4-2 comeback win over Boston University on Friday night at Walter Brown Arena.
Kristina Schuler opened the scoring five minutes into the game before Hannah Bilka's 11th goal of the season late in the frame sent the teams into the first intermission tied. Schuler added her second of the game midway through the second for a 2-1 lead entering the third period.
Alexie Guay's power-play strike five minutes into the third evened the score and less than three minutes later, Delaney Belinskas buried the game-winning goal. Cayla Barnes added an empty-net goal with 39 seconds to play.
Maddy McArthur finished with 21 saves for the Eagles while Corinne Schroeder made 26 stops for the Terriers. BC went 2-for-4 on the power play while BU was 1-for-5. The Eagles had the 30-23 lead in shots on goal.

- 1st, 5:22 | 0-1, BU GOAL: From the right corner, Deziray De Sousa shoveled a puck back to the front of the goal and Schuler one-timed it into the upper right corner.
- 1st, 17:19 | 1-1, BC GOAL: Guay's point shot found Savannah Norcross at the left post and the sophomore backhanded the puck across the crease and a crashing Bilka finished it from the bottom of the right circle.
- 2nd, 13:57 | 1-2, BU GOAL: A shot from the slot bounced around the crease and from the left circle, Schuler shot it back towards the goal and it went inside the left post.
- 3rd, 5:04 | 2-2, BC GOAL: Kelly Browne hit Guay at the top of the zone and the freshman defender lined up her slap shot, sending it into the upper right corner of the net.
- 3rd, 7:43 | 3-2, BC GOAL: Hadley Hartmetz started a regroup from the defensive zone, finding Maegan Beres going up the left wing. Beres skated in with Belinskas on a 2-on-1 and centered a pass at the top of the crease for the senior to tip past Schroeder.
- 3rd, 19:21 | 4-2, BC GOAL: Barnes hustled down the ice and was able to collect the puck for a second look at the empty net, sliding it home through some defenders.
- BC now holds a 31-19-7 all-time mark against BU … the Eagles have a mark of 14-8-2 in road games.
- Alexie Guay extended her point streak to nine games and notched her second multi-point game of the season … Maegan Beres and Delaney Belinskas both have points in each of the last three games.
- BC is the first team to score more than two goals this season against Corinne Schroeder … the Terrier goaltender had not given up more than two goals in any of her previous eight starts.
- This marked the third consecutive game that Beres earned the primary assist on a Belinskas goal and the sixth time this season the two have connected on a goal.
- This marked the first game-winning goal of the season for Belinskas … it was the seventh of her career.
