Eagles Place Third at NCAA Northeast Regional; Three Named All-Region

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Boston College women's cross country team placed third at the 2019 NCAA Northeast Regional, held in Buffalo, New York on Friday, Nov. 15, where three Eagles earned all-region honors.
The Eagles scored 133 points, just trailing Cornell, who scored 126 points for the auto-bid to the NCAA Championships.
Leading BC on the 6k course was Isabelle Kennedy, who ran a 19:49.8 to place 12th in the field of 266 runners and 27 teams. Following Kennedy was Lauren White and Anna Oeser, who ran times of 19:59.8 and 20:16.2 for 17th and 25th, respectively.
All three earned all-region honors for their finish. BC and Harvard were the only two schools to have three runners in the top-25.
Placing fourth for the Eagles was Fian Sullivan Sweeney, who ran a 20:21.4 for 30th place. Rounding out the scoring team for BC was Sarah Flynn, who came in 49th in 21:45.9. Flynn was the fifth first year runner to finish.
BC awaits its fate to see if they will make the NCAA Championships next weekend.
