Eagles Run to 20th-Place Finish at NCAA Championship

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Boston College women's cross country team competed at the NCAA Championships on Saturday, Nov. 23 in Terre Haute, Indiana, placing 20th out of the 31-team field.

This was BC's 20th appearance as a team in the national championship meet and first since 2014, where the Eagles finished eighth.

The Eagles scored 516 points, just trailing No. 26 Indiana (509 points) and in front of No. 23 Ole Miss (540 points). BC made the NCAA Championships as an at-large team and beat 11 teams ranked higher than them in the USTFCCCA Coaches' Poll.

Leading the way for the Eagles was Isabelle Kennedy, who placed 51st with a time of 20:58.6. Kennedy was just 10 seconds off of earning All-America honors as a top-40 finisher.

Lauren White was second to cross the finish line for BC, where she would place 104th in 21:16.9. Anna Oeser then crossed the finish line in 21:44.9 to place 163rd. Right behind Oeser was Fian Sullivan Sweeney, who placed 165th in 21:45.1.

The last of the scoring team to finish for BC was Sarah Flynn, who ran a 21:54.2 for 184th.

In all, 252 runners competed in the race on the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Championship Course.
