Eagles Fall To Holy Cross, 80-71

Junior Milan Bolden-Morris tallied 17 points in loss.
WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior Milan Bolden-Morris had 17 points but it was not enough as Boston College fell to Holy Cross, 80-71, at the Hart Center in Worcester on Wednesday night.
Boston College is now 2-1 on the season and will travel to Providence on Sunday for a 1 p.m. tip. Holy Cross is now 1-1 and will host Bryant next.
Holy Cross controlled the boards behind senior Megan Swords who posted a double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Crusader sophomore Oluchi Ezemma added five points and 10 rebounds as Holy Cross had a 51-42 edge on the boards, including 20 offensive rebounds.
Bolden-Morris led BC with 17 points, while sophomore Makayla Dickens added 15 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. Foul trouble hurt the Eagles throughout the game as four players had five fouls and two players had four.

- Redshirt sophomore Cameron Swartz, in her second start, finished with 14 points, four rebounds and two assists.
- Sophomore Makayla Dickens filled the stats sheet again with 15 points, seven rebounds and eight assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Boston College opened up 0-for-7 from the floor as Holy Cross went up 9-1 five minutes into the game. The Eagles fell behind, 17-8, as they shot just 21.4 percent from the floor in the quarter.
- Sophomore Marnelle Garraud provided a spark for the Eagles with her defense in the second quarter. BC cut the lead to six points behind a 6-2 run with 6:32 to play in the frame. Holy Cross went on a 7-2 run with 1:13 to play in the half. A three-pointer and two foul shots from junior Milan Bolden-Morris cut into the Crusaders lead, 33-29, at the half.
- Foul trouble continued to bother BC as Emma Guy picked up her third foul early in the quarter. BC senior Georgia Pineau (12 points) stepped up and scored five points as BC cut the lead to six points, 46-41, with 4:56 left in the quarter. Holy Cross finished the quarter on a 7-3 run to take a 63-48 lead into the final 10 minutes.
- With four players in foul trouble, Boston College battled to get back in the game behind Cameron Swartz, Bolden-Morris and Makayla Dickens. BC shot a game-high 52.9 percent in the quarter but Holy Cross maintained the lead behind the play of Swords and Ezemma.
