Browne’s Four Goals Pushes BC Past UNH

Kelly Browne scored four goals in BC's 5-2 Hockey East win.
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Kelly Browne scored four goals while Hannah Bilka had three assists, as the seventh-ranked Boston College women's hockey team claimed a 5-2 win over New Hampshire on Friday afternoon at Kelley Rink.
Willow Corson scored her second of the season while Olivia Finocchiaro had two assists and Maddy McArthur made 23 saves for her sixth win of the year.
Browne scored twice in the final four minutes of the first period and then responded to a UNH goal early in the middle frame with two more goals, giving the Eagles a 4-1 lead after two periods. Corson's goal six minutes into the third pushed BC out to a four-goal lead before UNH closed out the scoring at the 15:22 mark.
McArthur finished with 23 saves for BC while UNH saw Ava Boutilier make 22 saves before giving way to Nikki Harnett, who made 10 stops.

- 1st, 16:19| 1-0, BC GOAL: After digging the puck out of the corner, Bilka backhanded a pass to the near-side hashmarks and Browne beat Boutilier with a wrist shot inside the left post.
- 1st, 18:12 | 2-0, BC GOAL: Bilka skated the right circle and sent a pass back across the zone to Alexie Guay entering the left circle. Guay's centering pass found Browne in between the hashmarks for a five-hole finish.
- 2nd, 2:59 | 2-1, UNH GOAL: Lauren Martin pushed the puck up the right wing to Nicole Dunbar, and Dunbar skated into the zone and cut to the middle of ice before wristing a shot through a defender.
- 2nd, 12:15 | 3-1, BC GOAL: Finocchiaro forced a turnover on the left wall as UNH tried to break out, and Browne picked up the puck, curled back into the slot and wristed a shot top shelf.
- 2nd, 14:58 | 4-1, BC GOAL: After cycling the puck in the corner to the left of Boutilier, Browne took a pass from Bilka back to the middle of the slot and placed her shot into the upper right corner.
- 3rd, 6:22 | 5-1, BC GOAL: After stickhandling under a defender's stick in the slot, Corson took a shot from the hashmarks and put the puck between Harnett's legs for her second of the season.
- 3rd, 15:22 | 5-2, UNH GOAL: Tamara Thierus snuck a shot from the right dot just inside the right post.
- BC now holds a 24-41-5 record in the all-time series with UNH and a mark of 14-20-2 at Kelley Rink … head coach Katie Crowley is 22-12-4 against the Wildcats.
- Kelly Browne's four goals marked a career-high for the sophomore … it was the 11th four-goal game in program history and the second such game this season for the Eagles, with Hannah Bilka doing it on Oct. 3 at Holy Cross.
- Browne's game-winning goal was her first of the season and third of her career … she extended her point-streak to four games … this marked her fifth multi-point game of the season and ninth of her career … it was the second multi-goal game of her career.
- Bilka extended her point streak to eight games ... this was her sixth multi-point game of the year … she now has a team-leading 17 points on 10 goals and seven assists … her three assists marked a single-game career-high.
- Alexie Guay extended her point streak to six games with her assist … she now has seven points on one goal and six assists.
- Willow Corson potted her second goal of the season while Bridget McCarthy earned her second assist of the season on the tally.
- Olivia Finocchiaro tallied two assists for her second multi-point and multi-assist game of the season … the sophomore extended her career-highs to 11 points on three goals and eight assists.
- Cayla Barnes picked up her 10th assist of the season and she now has 12 points on two goals and 10 helpers … the defender has registered at least one point in eight out of nine games.
- This is the fourth time in program history that BC has opened up a season unbeaten in the first nine games.
