Eagles Compete at Three Regattas

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College sailing team competed at three regattas the weekend of Oct. 12, at the Women's Showcase Finals, for the Callagy Ross Trophy and the Captain Hurst Bowl.

The Eagles' best finish on the weekend was for the Callagy Ross Trophy, where BC scored 108 points for second place. The duo of Colin Brego and Isabella Eckler combined for the best score on the day, winning the A division with 29 points, while Graham Ness and Ginny Alex had the seventh-best score of the day and second-best in the B division with 79 points.

BC then placed fifth competing for the Captain Hurst Bowl, scoring 90 total points. In Division A, Jack DeNatale and Eliza Wright scored 25 points to place third. Then Robert Hunter and Elizabeth Russell scored 29 points for a sixth-place finish in the B division. Lastly, Scott Rasmussen and Katharine Bowman scored 36 points to place seventh in the C division.

Then at the Jen Harris Women's Showcase Finals, BC combined for a ninth-place finish with 176 points. Sophia Reineke and Mikayla Mathieu scored 75 points to finish in eighth in Division A, while Emma Batcher and Nicole Moeder scored 101 points in the B Division for 10th.
