BC Rowers Opened 2019 at Head of the Housatonic

The Boston College rowing team competed in the Head of the Housatonic on Oct. 12 to begin the first season under head coach Grace Hollowell.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Boston College rowing team competed in the Head of the Housatonic on Oct. 12 to begin the first season under head coach Grace Hollowell. The Eagles raced six boats on the Housatonic River in preparation for the fall's marquee event when BC races its home course in the 55th Head of the Charles.
BC raced three boats in the 4+ Collegiate Women's Division I and three boats in the 8+ Collegiate Women's Division I races. The Eagles' top-placing boat of a 13-boat field in the 4+ finished fifth in a time of 17:26.6.
A total of 30 boats raced in the 8+ with BC's top two boats finishing back-to-back in 15th and 16th in times of 15:35.8 and 15:36.2, respectively.
