Carlin Scores Four as BC Beats BU, 5-0

BOSTON – Off an incredible four-goal performance from freshman Margo Carlin, the Boston College field hockey team defeated Boston University, 5-0, at New Balance Field in Boston on Sunday, Oct. 13.

Along with Carlin's four goals, classmate Charlotte Von Huelsen scored BC's final goal, while Jaime Natale tallied two assists and Nell Webber one.

In net, Sarah Dwyer made four saves to complete her fourth shutout of the season.

Carlin scored her first goal just 1:48 into the game, scoring from the right side, elevating the ball into the back of the net. Then five minutes later, Carlin tipped home a shot by Webber to extend the lead to two.

The game would be scoreless in the second period, as Margo Carlin received a pass from Natale and chipped the ball over the goalie's reach. This would give her the freshman record for goals in a season with 14.

Carlin wasn't done yet though, as she tipped another goal in from Natale with 2:13 remaining in the third period for No. 15 on the season.

Late in the fourth, Von Huelsen would score the final tally for the Eagles, hitting a high shot from the top of the circle with 1:53 left in the fourth.
