New Hampshire Sneaks Past No. 10 BC in Saturday Matinee

DURHAM, N.H. – The No. 10 Boston College women's hockey team fell to the University of New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon at the Whittemore Center, 3-2.

After a scoreless first period in which the Eagles outshot the Wildcats, 13-4, Agnew broke the deadlock five minutes into the middle frame. UNH responded to Agnew's short-handed tally exactly eight minutes later but Watts' unassisted bid late in the second gave BC a 2-1 lead after two.
The Wildcats capitalized on a 5-on-3 in the third period to even the game up, 2-2, before taking a one-goal lead with 5:39 to play. BC fired away over the remaining minutes, with a couple near misses, but Kyra Smith and the Wildcats' defense kept the puck out of the net.
Smith finished with 23 saves for UNH while Maddy McArthur had 19 for BC. BC held a final edge of 25-22 in shots on goal.

- 2nd, 4:57 | 1-0, BC GOAL: While killing a penalty, Serena Sommerfield picked the puck up below the BC goal line and rimmed it up the boards. It bounced off a UNH player pinching and to Megan Keller at the face-off circle. Keller slipped the puck to Agnew in the neutral zone and the junior skated it over the blue line and fought off a defender before wristing it home under the crossbar.
- 2nd, 12:57 | 1-1, UNH GOAL: Grace Middleton dug the puck out behind the BC net and sent a pass to the top of the zone for Jenna Rheault and her shot found the top right corner of the net from distance.
- 2nd, 17:38 | 2-1, BC GOAL: UNH skate the puck over the red line and wrung it around the boards, all the way out to the neutral zone where Watts picked it up, skated through three Wildcats in the slot and wristed it past Smith.
- 3rd, 5:31 | 2-2, UNH GOAL: On a 5-on-3, UNH worked the puck from the blue line down to Tori Howran at the right dot. Taylor Wenczkowski dropped to the opposite circle and one-timed a pass past McArthur.
- 3rd, 14:21 | 2-3, UNH GOAL: The Wildcats broke into the BC zone on a 2-on-1 and Wenczkowski finished the puck high as she slid into McArthur.
- Lindsay Agnew's goal was her second short-handed goal of the season and gave her a career-high six goals on the season and a career-high 14 points.
- Megan Keller has registered at least one point in 16 of her 20 games played this season.
- With her assist, Keller moved into the top 10 - tied for eighth all time - in program history in points with 138.
- BC is now 22-41-5 all-time against New Hampshire and 10-20-3 on the road.
- Head coach Katie Crowley now has a record of 20-12-3 against the Wildcats.
