No. 1 Notre Dame Up Next For The Young Eagles

Eagles-Irish tip Sunday at 1.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Boston College women's basketball team will travel to South Bend to play No. 1 Notre Dame (17-1, 5-0 ACC) on Sunday at the Purcell Pavilion at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast online via ACC Network Extra.
Boston College is currently 13-5 overall and 2-3 in the conference. BC is coming off a tough, 91-71, home loss to No. 21 Florida State on Thursday night. The Eagles were led by the junior class – Emma Guy (24 points, 12 rebounds), Taylor Ortlepp (18 points, 5 assists) and Georgia Pineau (12 points, 5 rebounds). Freshman Marnelle Garraud finished with four points, five rebounds and three steals.

Notre Dame is coming off a, 80-51, win over Virginia Tech on Wednesday night. Jessica Shepard led the Irish with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Arike Ogunbowale added 19 points and Marina Mabrey pitched in with 15 points.

- This will be the 28th meeting between Boston College and Notre Dame.
- The two teams first played in the 1983-84 season.

- In the 2008-09 season, Mickel Picco sank six three-pointers in her home state of Texas to lead Boston College past Houston, 62-56. She shot 6-for-8 from long range finished with a team-high 29 points. Upon graduation in 2010, Picco was the all-time leader in three-pointers made with 237. Since then, three players have surpassed her record – Kerri Shields (252), Nicole Boudreau (253) and the all-time leader Kelly Hughes (322).
