
Men's Basketball Looks to Bounce Back at Notre Dame

BOSTON COLLEGE VS. NOTRE DAME - ALL-TIME SERIES
- Today's game marks the 32nd meeting between the two schools.
- Boston College is 10-21 all-time vs. Notre Dame.
- In ACC play, the Eagles are 0-11 versus the Fighting Irish.
- Last season, ND swept the regular season series.
- From 1988-2005, both schools were members of the Big East.
- BC compiled a 9-10 mark vs. the Irish during that span.
- The Irish have won the last 11 and 16 of the last 17 matchups.
- In 15 all-time meetings at Notre Dame, the Eagles are 3-12.
- BC has not won at the Joyce Center since Jan. 11, 1997.
BOSTON COLLEGE IN ACC PLAY
- Boston College is 77-145 in 13 seasons in the ACC.
- The Eagles finished with a 7-11 record in ACC play last year - the most conference wins since the 2012-13 season.
- The Eagles' best ACC mark came in its inaugural season, going 11-5 in conference play in 2005-06 en route to a third place finish.
- BC tied for third in 2006-07 (10-6) and fourth in 2010-11 (9-7).

- Ky Bowman is the only player in the country averaging at least: 20.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game. Â
- It is the most well-rounded stat line in 26 years of Division I basketball.
- In 1992-93, Penny Hardaway of Memphis posted at least that stat line (21.0 ppg/8.5 rpg/6.4 apg/2.5 spg/1.2 bpg).
- Bowman is the only player nationally at 6-1 or shorter to average 7.8 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game.
- Last year, Bowman was the only player in the country to average at least 17.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game.
- Since the 1990-91 season, only 10 players have registered at least those season averages.
- One of those players was National Player of the Year - Denzel Valentine of Michigan State in 2016.
- Three were top three NBA Draft picks: Ben Simmons, LSU (#1, 2016); Evan Turner, Ohio State (#2, 2010); and Hardaway, Memphis (#3, 1993).

- Ky Bowman is one of three players in the ACC to rank among the top 10 in scoring (3rd, 20.0) and rebounding (10, 7.4).
- Zion Williamson of Duke (2nd, 20.9 ppg; 3rd, 9.5 rpg) and Jordan Nwora of Louisville (8th, 17.3 ppg; 7th, 8.3 rpg) are the others. Â
- BC is the only school in the ACC with three players averaging 7.0 rebounds per game or more (Mitchell, Bowman, Popovic).
- Three Eagles rank among the top 10 in FT% in the ACC: Wynston Tabbs is second (45-54, 83.3%), Ky Bowman fourth (66-80, 82.5%), and Jordan Chatman fifth (41-50, 82.0%).
WYNSTON TABBS: ANOTHER DYNAMIC TO THE BC BACKCOURT
- Wynston Tabbs is the only freshman nationally to average 14.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.1 steals/game.
- He is one of 56 players nationally and four in the ACC - Ky Bowman, Nickeil Alexander-Walker (Virginia Tech) and Marquise Reed (Clemson) are the others - to post that season stat line.
- The Suitland, Md. native ranks sixth in the ACC and 32nd nationally among all freshmen in scoring.
- In each of the nine games which Tabbs has reached double figures, he has scored at least 15 points.
- Tabbs scored 13 of his 15 at DePaul in the second half, including 10 straight points during a 1:54 stretch as BC took its first lead.
STEFFON MITCHELL: CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARDS
- In 43 career games, Steffon Mitchell has grabbed double-digit rebounds on 18 occasions. BC is 11-7 in those games.
- He ranks fifth in the ACC in rebounding, at 8.5 boards per outing.
- Last season, Mitchell became the first true freshman in BC history to average better than 8.0 rebounds per game.
- The Shakopee, Minn. native pulled down 8.3 rebounds per game and is the ACC's third-leading returning rebounder.
- Mitchell has four double-doubles so far in 2018-19 and six for his career.
FOR THE ANALYTICS CROWD
- So far this season, Boston College has had four single-game efficiency ratings of 30 or more.
- Efficiency rating is calculated using the following formula: (PTS + REB + AST + STL + BLK - Missed Shots - TO)
- Ky Bowman set the season high-mark vs. Hartford, with an efficiency rating of 45.
- Wynston Tabbs held the previous season high, with an EFF rating of 38 against Sacred Heart on Nov. 29.
- Versus Columbia, both Nik Popovic (32) and Bowman (30) recorded at least a mark of 30.

- Boston College has had three different players score at least 28 points in a game in each of the last three seasons.
- So far this season, Ky Bowman, Jordan Chatman, and Wynston Tabbs have registered at least one 28-point performance.
- Bowman had 38 vs. Wyoming and 44 vs. Hartford, Tabbs 28 vs. Sacred Heart, and Chatman 28 against Providence.
- During 2016-17 and 2017-18, Bowman, Chatman, and Jerome Robinson each had at least 28 points in a single game.
- A BC player has also posted a 40-point game in back-to-back seasons. Robinson had 46 last year at Notre Dame.
