Duca Leads Eagles at Battle in Beantown

BC places 12th in sixth annual event
JAMAICA PLAIN, Mass. – The Boston College women's cross country team hosted the sixth-annual Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown, finishing in 12th place with 307 points on Friday afternoon at Franklin Park.
Ole Miss took first overall with 102 points. Georgia Tech came in second with 105 points while Utah finished third with score of 161.
Junior Paige Duca finished first for the Eagles, completing the 5K course in 18:05.7 to place 46th overall in the field of 216 runners. Senior Delia Hayes came across the line next for BC with another strong performance, running a personal-best time of 18:06.8 for 50th overall.
A pair of freshmen, Anna Oeser and Nicole Clermont, finished 60th and 61st, respectively. Oeser came in third for BC with a time of 18:12.8 while Clermont's time of 18:14.3 made her the fourth Eagle across the line.
Sophomore Lauren White was the fifth Eagle to cross the line, coming in 99th with a time of 18:36.8.
Providence junior Abbey Wheeler won the women's individual title with a time of 17:10.

- The Franklin Park course will be used again in October when BC hosts the ACC Championship on Friday the 26th.
