Eagles in the NFL: Week 2
September 18, 2018 | Football
Ryan, Eagles top Kuechly, Panthers in week two match-up.
The two most recognizable BC Eagles in the NFL faced off for the first time this season in a divisional match-up as the Atlanta Falcons held off the Carolina Panthers, 31-24. Matt Ryan quarterbacked the Falcons to the victory over Luke Kuechly and the Panthers in Atlanta. Carolina made it a one-touchdown game with 2:20 to play and forced a quick Falcons punt, but the Atlanta defense held strong as Cam Newton's Hail Mary from the Falcons' 31 fell incomplete.

Anthony Castonzo | OL | Indianapolis Colts
Castonzo, who has made progress coming back from injury this month, was limited in the Colts' Wednesday practice and ultimately held out of their week two win at Washington. He has been battling a hamstring injury sustained in a workout prior to the start of preseason camp.
Â
John Johnson | SS | Los Angeles Rams
The Rams put together another dominating win with a 34-0 drubbing of divisional rival Arizona. Johnson led LA with seven tackles; playing 78% of the defensive snaps from the starting strong safety position.
Â
Luke Kuechly | MLB | Carolina Panthers
Kuechly recorded a game-high nine tackles, while staying on the field for all 63 defensive snaps against Atlanta.
Â
Harold Landry | DE | Tennessee Titans
In his NFL debut, Landry played 52% of the Titans' defensive snaps and did not record a statistic in the box score. However, the second-round pick's presence was felt by Houston QB DeShaun Watson. He was credited with two quarterback hurries and played a large part in four of Tennessee's six stops on third down. Inserted on third-and-12 for his first play, Landry beat the left tackle and flushed Watson out of the pocket, where he was brought down for a sack.
Â
Matt Milano | LB | Buffalo Bills
Milano started at weak-side linebacker for the Bills in a 31-20 loss to the Chargers. He totaled three tackles in 75% of Buffalo's defensive snaps.

Returning from a one-game suspension, Pierre-Louis played 17 snaps on special teams for the Jets against Miami.
Â
Matt Ryan | QB | Atlanta Falcons
Ryan and the Falcons bounced back from an opening-night loss to defeat the Panthers and even their record at 1-1. Ryan rushed for two touchdowns in a game for the first time in his career, including a score that stood as the game-winner midway through the fourth quarter from eight yards out. Through the air, he totaled 272 yards and two TDs on 23-for-28 passing. He threw touchdown passes to Calvin Ridley and Austin Hooper in the final 4:03 of the first half to flip a seven-point deficit to a seven-point lead at the break that would not be relinquished.

Justin Simmons | FS | Denver Broncos
Simmons led all players with nine tackles as the Broncos pulled off a come-from-behind, 20-19 win over the Raiders at home on Sunday afternoon. The Denver strong safety was on the field for all 65 defensive snaps.

John Wetzel | OL | Arizona Cardinals
After coming off the bench in the Cardinals' opener, Wetzel started at right tackle against the Rams in week two. He played all 45 offensive snaps.
