Women's Lacrosse Welcomes Six Players to Roster

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Six players signed National Letters of Intent and will join the Boston College lacrosse team for the 2018-19 season, head coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein announced on Wednesday.

Madison Cooney (Mattapoisett, Mass.), Paisley Eagan (Wilton, Conn.), Jennifer Medjid (Garden City, N.Y.), Caitlynn Mossman (Townson, MD) and Cassidy Weeks (Bayport, N.Y.) and Courtney Weeks (Bayport, N.Y.) will join the Eagles' ranks next season.

Madison Cooney | Midfield | Old Rochester H.S. | Mattapoisett, Mass.
Cooney, a South Coast Conference All-Star from 2015-18, had 97 goals and 31 assists this past season. She finished her four-year career with 268 goals and holds the program record for goals, points and draw controls. She helped Old Rochester win the SCC Championship in 2017 and 2018. Cooney was named to the 2018 Boston Globe Super Team and was the 2017 and 2018 Standard Times Player of the Year. She is also a two-time Boston Herald All-Scholastics and earned the "Big Dream" award in 2018 from her club team – Laxachusetts.

Paisley Eagan | Midfield | Wilton H.S. | Wilton, Conn.
Eagan started her high school career at Wilton, attended the Taft School as a junior and returned to Wilton her senior season. An honor roll student, Eagan played club lacrosse for SoundCrosse for head coach Caitlin Young. A US Lacrosse High School All-American honoree in 2016, 2017 and 2018. An All-FCIAC first team honoree in 2016-18 as well as the 2018 Wilton Lacrosse Association Outstanding Senior Award honoree. An honor roll student, Eagan was a 2016 and 2017 Inside Lacrosse Watch List candidate. She also played soccer and was an All-State honoree in 2017.

Jennifer Medjid | Attack | Garden City H.S. | Garden City, New York
Medjid was a 2018 All-USA Today Preseason Girls Lacrosse team honoree. She finished her career with 172 goals and 70 assists as a four-year starter for Garden City head coach Diane Chapman. Medjid helped Garden City win two New York State Class B Championship. A two-time All-American, she was a finalist for USA Today Player of the Year and competed in the Under Armour Girls All-Star game in June. A two-time All-Metro first team selection, Medjid was also a two-time captain and All-County All-Star. Played for the Long Island Yellow Jackets for head coach Carol Rose, Medjid was a three-time UA Underclassman team honoree. Medjid helped Garden City win four Long Island Championships in field hockey. She was a two-time all-state performer in field hockey.

Caitlynn Mossman | Attack | Notre Dame Academy | Townson, Maryland
Mossman a team captain was a Baltimore Sun Player to Watch in 2018.  She finished her final season for Notre Dame with 34 goals and 37 assists while helping the team win the A Conference Championship. Compiled 80 goals and 83 assist in her final two high school seasons at Notre Dame. She was a 2018 All-Metro second-team honoree and played in the 2018 Under Armour All-America game in June. Mossman was a 2018 USA Today Girls Lacrosse second-team honoree and named to the Player to Watch List. A 2017 All-Metro first team honoree, Mossman also earned Inside Lacrosse Top 40 Young Gun honors. She also played soccer and basketball and was involved in Habitat for Humanity and Charm City Lacrosse while at Notre Dame.

Cassidy Weeks | Midfield | Bayport-Blue Point H.S. | Baypoint, N.Y.
Cassidy Weeks, a native of Baypoint, New York, played midfield at Bayport-Blue Point High School along with her sister Courtney, who is also a Boston College incoming freshman. Weeks played midfield and was a 2018 US All-American and played in the Under Armour All-Star game in June. She was an Under Armour Underclass All-American in 2016 and 2017. Â Named to Newsday's Top 100 Players for 2018, Weeks plays for the Long Island Yellow Jackets.

Courtney Weeks | Midfield | Bayport-Blue Point H.S. | Baypoint, N.Y.
Courtney Weeks, a native of Baypoint, New York, joins her sister Cassidy with the incoming class for Boston College this season. A midfielder, Weeks recently played in the Under Armour All-America game in June. Finished the season with 31 goals and 11 assists while she posted 30 goals and 15 assists as a sophomore. Weeks earned All-County honors and US All-America as well as Long Island second-team honors. She plays club lacrosse for the Long Island Yellow Jackets.
