Three-time CRCA honoree McKernan picked up her second ACC All-Academic pick.
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Five Boston College rowers were selected to the ACC All-Academic Team as released by the conference office on Thursday. Senior Elizabeth McKernan earned her second career ACC All-Academic honor among a group of 20 two-time honorees by the ACC.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career.
Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team. The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
McKernan, a secondary education and history major, was previously named a CRCAÂ scholar-athlete for the third time in her career earlier this month. She was joined by four teammates on the 62 player All-Academic squad, which received a record 286 nominees from the conference's affiliates.
BC seniors Megan Lydon, Jacqueline McDonnell, Claire Orzel and freshman Jacqueline Taeubel all received their first All-Academic Team honor from the ACC. McDonnell and Orzel also picked up CRCA scholar-athlete recognition this season.
