Annie Murphy Named NFCA All-American Second Team

Murphy is the second player in program history to earn All-American status.

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Senior Annie Murphy was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American Second Team outfielder, as announced by the NFCA announced this afternoon.

Murphy, who earned first team NFCA All-Region honors, is only the second player in program history to earn All-American honors. Shortstop Cara Blumfield was an All-American first-team honoree in 2002.

A native of Washington, N.J., Murphy led the Eagles offensively as she hit .360 with a .433 on base percentage, 62 hits and 30 RBI.

Murphy was an All-ACC First Team honoree this past season and was named to the All-ACC Second Team as a sophomore and junior.

The outfielder has batted a team-high .440 in conference play, scoring 13 runs and logging 33 hits. At the end of regular season play, Murphy led the conference in both batting average and hits.

Murphy graduated in May from the Robert J. Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences with a psychology degree.
