HOW IT HAPPENED
Boston College jumped out to a 5-1 lead just over 15 minutes into the game. Tess Chandler got the scoring started at the 28:28 mark on a pass from Emma Schurr.
The Eagles' Kaileen Hart responded with three straight tallies - her first coming on a delivery from Sam Apuzzo at the 22:07 mark. Hart scored again on a free possession after a foul called on Princeton goalkeeper Sam Fish. The senior attacker made it 4-1 on a hesitation move with 16:51 left in the first half.
After a Cara Urbank goal (14:34), Princeton added two unanswered to trim the BC lead to 5-3 with 11:45 to play in the half. BC would respond with two unanswered scores of its own. With Sam Apuzzo sitting out (yellow card), Hart struck again on a short-handed goal (10:02). Tess Chandler's quick stick goal at the 8:37 mark made it 7-3 in favor of the Maroon & Gold.
Apuzzo would register her 80th goal of the season - an unssisted score - to close out the half as BC took a 9-4 lead into the halftime break. BC would outshoot Princeton, 15-9, through the first 30:00 of play.
Princeton put on the pressure in the second half, scoring three times through the first 10 minutes of play, getting within three (10-7). Back-to-back Eagles goals - from Arsenault (17:12) and Chandler (12:02) - pushed the lead to 12-7 and the advantage back to four goals.
A Tigers goal with 11:13 made it 12-8 before Boston College began to turn up the pressure on both sides of the field. Â
The Eagles scored on their next two possessions - a quick stick score by Urbank from Arsenault (10:21) before a rocket by Taylor Walker, finding the upper left corner with 9:29 to play on a liner just inside the scoring zone. Walker's tally made it a six-goal lead for BC - at 14-8.
On the next possession, the BC defense forced Princeton into a shot clock violation w. ith 7:52 to go.Lauren Daly made two big saves with under 4:00 minutes, halting the Princeton attack.
Chandler's goal with 47.2 seconds remaining, on a delivery from Apuzzo, iced the victory for the Eagles.

- With Sam Apuzzo's first half goal, the junior attacker tied her own BC single-season goals record with 80. Apuzzo tallied 80 goals a season ago.
- Apuzzo also posted a game-high 11 draw controls, giving her 144 on the season.
- Tess Chandler and Kaileen Hart scored five goals apiece in the victory. It tied each player's single-game career-high in goals. Chandler had five goals against Syracuse on April 28, 2016.
- Hart had five tallies on two previous occasions - the last coming this season against Brown. Eight of her 11 shots on the afternoon were on-goal.
- Cara Urbank registered a season-best three goals on five shots.
- Dempsey Arsenault added a goal while assisting on three other scores. She also had five draw controls and two ground balls.
- Brooke Troy and Lauren Daly led the Eagles with three ground balls apiece.
- Lauren Daly made eight saves in net for the Eagles, allowing four goals. She moves to 20-1 overall on the season.
- Today's matchup marked the first time Boston College and Princeton had faced each other in the sport of women's lacrosse.
